Description
The first Vox wah pedals ever built drew inspiration from the midrange boost setting on old-school Vox amps, a feature designed to emulate Clyde McCoy's trumpet muting technique. While many wah pedals have come and gone since then, those first-year stompboxes have become legendary, and their iconic nasally midrange is highly sought after by today's guitarists. The Vox Real McCoy Wah is a faithful reproduction of the original wah pedal, making it perfect for musicians looking to tap into that '60s rock 'n' roll sound.
The Real McCoy is based on a mint condition "Holy Grail" 1967 Vox wah. Everything from that pedal has been scanned and rebuilt to give this stompbox an authentic look, sound, and feel. From custom-designed inductors and transistors to its hand-selected wiring, every component faithfully mirrors the '67 model. Additionally, the body is molded from a 3D scan of the "Holy Grail", and the underside screws and font are accurate to the original.
If you're looking to enhance your pedalboard with a premium vintage-inspired wah, the Vox Real McCoy delivers in full. Step on it, and experience the same sonic magic that shaped the careers of Hendrix, Clapton, and countless rock legends.
