Description

What makes this guitar special? This guitar has more vintage vibe than it knows what to do with. The pickups have a ton of character with their low-output jangly response that starts a bit warm and wooly in the neck and cleans up into crisp chime as it moves towards the bridge. The on/off pickup sliders provide an absolute ton of combinations from isolated to pairs to triplets to all four open, which produces a full and unique sound not unlike a woolly fuzz with a bit less distortion. We’re calling the finish Red, but it’s much closer to a candy finish with excellent vibrancy under lights that also works beautifully with the chrome-colored flowers on the pickguard. The neck is comfortable and easy, the aesthetic is hard to beat, and all in all, this guitar has a boatload of vintage charm that few others are able to fully grasp and still sound and play great.

Condition: This guitar is in very good condition overall. It does possess various nicks, dings, dents, chips, and scratches but still remains very clean for a guitar that’s been around 50 or so years. The frets are a bit worn down, but still play great up and down the neck. The neck is comfortable and the truss rod functions, although when it’s loosened it doesn’t provide a lot of relief, but surely enough to still play surprisingly well. The original foam from the mute has disintegrated over time, but the mechanism still works well and just needs new foam to be fully functional.

Body: Double cutaway contoured solid body in Red finish. Fixed bridge with adjustable roller saddles and built-in easy-throw mute. Vibrato tailpiece. 2-ply plastic pickguard with chrome/silver flowers. Plastic top hat knobs with silver inserts. 2-way chrome-colored on/off step-style switches.

Neck: Medium depth C shape hardwood neck and rosewood fingerboard with rounded block inlays. 1 5/8” nut with zero fret. 25” scale. Six-in-a-line open-gear tuning machines.

Electronics: Single-coil Spectrum pickups in the neck, middle, middle, and bridge. 1 x volume, 1 x tone control. 3-way tone switch. 4 x on/off pickup switches.

Neck: 3.74k Ohms

Middle: 3.87k Ohms

Middle 2: 3.83k Ohms

Bridge: 3.75k Ohms

Weight: 7 lbs 7.5 oz

Playability/Sound: The slightly smaller neck on this guitar is very easy to move around and its C shape is comfortable and familiar. The pickups have an absolute ton of vintage vibe with jangly low outputs and a bit of warm woody character that is present mostly in the neck and cleans up in each pickup towards the bridge. All four pickups combined make for a very full spectrum, similar to a woolly-sounding fuzz with less distortion in the overall response.

Case: Includes gig bag.
