Description
What makes this guitar special? This is a killer vintage Silvertone that is incredibly clean for its age. The pickups have ultra clean tone and sound amazingly similar to the natural woody resonance of the body. The neck has a nice and chunky full-in-hand feel that will be right at home in the hands of a player who tends to lean away from modern and slim profiles. The main feature though, has to be the condition of this guitar. Outside of a few nicks and dings here and there, it is in fantastic shape for around 50 years old and still looks just the same. If you’re looking for an ultimately classic piece with a bit of history and bunch of great tone, this is the guitar for you.
Condition: This guitar is in very good condition overall. It does have various nicks, dings, dents, chips, and scratches, but considering its age, is still in fantastic shape. The fingerboard is just starting to separate from the neck, but this does not affect playability. The frets show only light to mild wear and still have a lot of life left in them. This model has no adjustable truss rod, but the neck still plays well.
Body: Single cutaway double-bound body in Shaded Sunburst finish. Single-ply white pickguard with brown cupcake knobs. Uncompensated rosewood bridge with height-adjustment thumb screws and trapeze tailpiece.
Neck: Full, chunky neck with rosewood fingerboard and white dot inlays. 3-in-a-line open-gear tuning machines with white buttons. 1 ¾” nut.
Electronics: Original single-coil pickups. 2 x volume, 2 x tone controls. 3-way pickup selector.
Weight: 5 lbs 2.7 oz
Playability/Sound: The chunky neck will be perfect for players who love a full-in-hand feel. The pickups are very clean and have a very genuine character that you don’t find much in more modern guitars. There isn’t a huge amount of tonal variance between the pickups, but it doesn’t really matter because it all sounds great anyway.
Case: Includes gigbag.
