Description

What makes this guitar special? This is a phenomenal guitar all around. The volume ceiling is surprisingly high and is obvious from the moment the first chord is strummed. The dynamic range is also exceptional for what was at the time quite a modest build. It has great low end response, a rich mid-range, and a nice clear top end, all of which combine for a warm, mature sound. The soft V neck is incredibly comfortable and full-in-hand, especially down towards the first position. The guitar’s look has aged gracefully with a warm patina to match its tone. All in all, although it was likely as underrated when it was produced in the ‘70s as it is now, this is a fantastic underdog of an acoustic, especially for the price.

Condition: This guitar is in very good condition overall. Outside of light surface scratches throughout the body and neck, and a patch of scratches on the side of the lower bout, it is incredibly clean for its age and it shows. The frets show very little wear and still have a ton of life left in them. The truss rod functions as it should.

Body: Grand concert body with a multi-ply bound spruce top and mahogany back and sides. Rosewood bridge with thumb screw adjustable saddle. Black beveled pickguard. 3-ring rosette.

Neck: Soft V shape mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard with white dot inlays. 1 ¾” nut width. Bound headstock with rosewood overlay. Chrome sealed tuning machines.

Weight: 4 lbs 3.5 oz

Playability/Sound: The volume on this guitar is fantastic for the build. It is excellent low end response, a rich mid-range and clarity that extends through the highest notes, all of which has a pleasant maturity about it. The soft V neck is very comfortable to play and has a nice full in hand feel.

Case: Includes chipboard case.
