Description
Condition: Very good condition overall. A previous owner removed the back and re-glued the braces. They are holding together perfectly. Various surface scratches, nicks, dings, dents and weather checking throughout the instrument. An area of the top has worn through to the bare wood from normal play wear. Fingerboard and frets have light play wear and plenty of life. All parts are in perfect working condition.
Body: Single-bound body with solid spruce top and solid oak back and sides in natural finish. Multiple wood inlays around the top binding and back center seam. There are printed numbers on the inside of the back but they are illegible. Nickel tailpiece, Ebony bridge with ivoroid saddle, and multiple wood inlay rosette around the sound hole.
Neck: “V” shaped maple neck with Ebony fingerboard, pearloid dot inlays and a 1 1/8” Ebony nut. Four-on-a-strip nickel tuner with ebanoid buttons, 13” scale length.
Playability/Sound: The solid spruce top and oak body produce a very rich tone. The sound is warm with a defined high end, beautiful attack and plenty of volume and resonance. This is a one-of-a-kind piece and the first of its kind we’ve had here in the shop.
