Description
This is a vintage script logo MXR Distortion Plus. These pedals are known for their cutting distortion sound as heard from everyone from Randy Rhoads to Thom Yorke of Radio head. This pedal excels at high-gain settings. The pedal will easily achieve a singing, violin-like sustain with the gain control set accordingly. The tone itself is a loose sounding distortion with a good midrange presence and plenty of treble. With the gain turned up past 1 o’clock it even achieves some fuzz-like qualities in the gain structure, though it doesn’t have the bottom end of most fuzz pedals. Ultimately this is a great sounding pedal and the only way to have the true vintage tone!
Condition: Great shape for its age! There are various scratches and small chips throughout the metal enclosure but no major wear and all of the font is intact. The inside of the pedal has a foam cover the electronic components which is falling apart but the electronics are all in perfect working condition!
Note: This pedal requires a 9-volt battery to work and does not accept an external power source.
