Description
A nice gorgeous sounding mandolin with a rich, powerful voice. This wonderful Style 20 was just recently acquired from a private collection of nearly 40 rare & vintage Martin guitars, including tenors as well as mandolins, ukes & banjos. Professionally inspected & set up by the experts here at Cream City Music.
Cosmetic Condition: Really nice shape for its age with some mild play wear - various tiny nicks & dings along with surface scratches & some light finish wear. There's a very minor crack in the side of the body next to the neck heel that was professionally glued & is quite stable with no issues. Overall the mandolin looks great with a beautiful patina.
Neck: Mahogany neck with ebony fingerboard & mother of pearl dot inlays. Frets are clean with practically no wear. Brazilian rosewood headstock overlay. Open-back strip tuners with ivoroid buttons. 1 1/8" nut width; 13" scale length.
Body: Solid spruce top with bound oval soundhole & multi-ring rosette. Solid maple back & sides with lots of gorgeous flame figuring. Bound top & back with two side-points. Engraved nickel tailpiece with compensated ebony bridge & pickguard. Mandolin weighs 1 lb 9.4 oz.
Case: Original hardshell case included.
