Description
First year for the D12-35, this powerful sounding 12-string features a slotted headstock with Brazilian rosewood back & sides. This gorgeous guitar was just recently acquired from a private collection of nearly 40 rare & vintage Martin guitars, including tenors as well as mandolins, ukes & banjos. Professionally inspected & set up by the experts here at Cream City Music.
Cosmetic Condition: Used, but not abused, with signs of typical play wear for its age - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches weather checking & some finish wear. There are three professionally repaired back cracks that were glued & cleated. One open top crack near the pickguard due to pickguard shrinkage over the years. Overall the guitar has a great look to it with an ultra cool, true vintage vibe & beautiful patina.
Neck: Mahogany neck with nicely aged cream binding & black side-dots. Ebony fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Frets are clean with really no wear. Slotted headstock with Grover USA side-mounted tuners. 1 7/8" nut width; 25" scale length. Neck is straight & plays well up & down the fretboard.
Body: Double-bound, round-shoulder dreadnought in natural finish. Solid spruce top with tortoise pickguard & multi-ring rosette. Ebony belly bridge with cream end pins. Solid Brazilian rosewood back & sides with 3-piece back. There are no electronics & the guitar weighs 5 lbs 6.4 oz.
Case: Modern Martin hardshell case included.
