Description
What makes this guitar special: 100% original & just recently acquired from the original owner, who purchased it new in 1977. Included with the guitar is its original "Care & Feeding" booklet along with a letter from Frank Martin thanking the owner for his purchase & receipt of the warranty registration card. We don't get many shaded top Martins, but when we do they tend not to hang around too long.
Cosmetic Condition: Great shape for being just over 40 years old. Various minor nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches, weather checking & some mild finish wear. No cracks, breaks or repairs. Overall the guitar has wonderful, authentic vintage look to it with a gorgeous patina.
Neck: Mahogany neck with diamond volute & cream side-dots. Ebony fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Frets show some wear, but have plenty of life in them. Grover Rotomatic tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 11/16" nut width; 25 1/2" scale length.
Body: Dreadnought body with 6-ply top binding & 3-ply back binding. Solid spruce top in a beautiful ice tea sunburst finish. Ebony bridge with cream end pins. Black pickguard & multi-ring rosette. Solid Indian rosewood back & sides with geometric center strip. Guitar weighs 4 lbs 10.6 oz. There are no electronics.
Case: Original hardshell case included.
