Description
Condition: Very good overall! Various surface scratches, nicks, dings, dents and weather checking throughout the guitar give it an awesome vintage look! The binding has acquired a beautiful patina adding to the character of this guitar. There is a small amount of separation at the neck heel but the neck angle is proper and stable. The neck has a very slight warp but is mostly straight with comfortable action. Fingerboard and frets have moderate play wear and tons of life left in them. The strap button on the bottom of the guitar is unoriginal, otherwise all parts are original and in good working condition.
Body: Double-bound body with arched spruce top and flame maple back and sides in natural finish. Nickel trapeze tailpiece, height adjustable bridge, dual “F” holes and a tortoise pickguard. Lower Bout: 17” wide x 3 5/8” deep. Upper Bout: 12 ¼” wide x 3 5/8” deep.
Neck: Maple neck with bound rosewood fingerboard, pearloid inlays and a 1 ¾” nut. Headstock in bound and features a tortoise overlay with Kay logo and open-geared nickel tuners with ivoroid buttons. 25.5” scale length.
Playability/Sound: This is a great sounding vintage archtop! The wide bout design of the body produces a full, rich tone with plenty of volume. The neck is extremely comfortable with comfortable action.
