Description
A lovely, true vintage archtop with a sweet, punchy tone that's a lot of fun to play. Professionally set up with fresh strings & low action, so it's ready for you upon arrival.
Cosmetic Condition: What else would you expect from an 80+ year old guitar but good, honest play wear - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches, weather checking & finish wear. There's about a footlong crack in the back of the body, but it's fairly insignificant & doesn't affect the tone or playability. Overall the guitar has a great vibe to it with a gorgeous patina.
Neck: Chunky, V-shaped mahogany neck with Brazilian rosewood fingerboard & mother of pearl dot inlays. Frets show some wear, but have plenty of life in them. The previous owner pressed his name into the front of the headstock just above the silkscreen Kalamazoo logo. Open-back strip tuners in good working condition. 1 3/4" nut width; 25" scale length. Neck is straight & plays well up & down the fretboard.
Body: Solid spruce top with dual F-holes & cream binding. Nickel trapeze tailpiece with floating rosewood bridge & long black pickguard. Mahogany back & sides with an arched back. 15" lower bout width with about 4 1/2" depth. There are no electronics & the guitar weighs a delightful 3 lbs 13.9 oz.
Case: Original chipboard case included.
