Description
Made famous by the Jimi Hendrix Experience, these rare basses are becoming increasingly harder to find, especially in all original & clean condition. This one was just recently acquired from the original owner, featuring a mahogany body in sunburst finish & comes with its original deluxe chipboard case. Nice action so it plays very well & offers some exotic, interesting tones.
Cosmetic Condition: Pretty clean for its age, but does show some typical mild play wear - various nicks, dents & dings; surface scratches. Overall the bass has an ultra cool, true vintage vibe with a wonderful patina.
Neck: Rounded mahogany neck with white binding & black side-dots. Beautiful Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Original frets are in great shape with no wear. Nickel tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 5/8" nut width; 31" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.
Body: Double-cutaway, solid mahogany body in sunburst finish. Top-loading bridge with four adjustable saddles. 3-ply black pickguard is in great shape with no cracks. Bass weighs 7 lbs 0.5 oz.
Electronics: Two single coil pickups with 4 slider switches: on/off switches for each pickup, tone & mute switches along with a master volume control knob.
Case: Original deluxe chipboard case included.
