Description
You can buy a Gibson ES-125 any day of the week, but how often do you come across a Savoy X-150? A marvelous hollow body with a gorgeous, natural acoustic voice that's already loud even before you plug it in! These don't come up very often, but when they do, they tend not to last long in the shop. This one plays like butter thanks to a pro set up from the experts here at Cream City Music.
Cosmetic Condition: Built in the early years when Guild was located in Hoboken, NJ, the guitar is in great shape for being over 60 years old! Showing signs of good, honest play wear - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches, weather checking & some mild finish wear. There's a little bit of binding shrinkage along the body, but nothing major & it's all very well secured. Overall the guitar has a great vibe to it with an authentic vintage look & beautiful patina.
Neck: Slender profile, rounded mahogany neck with nicely aged cream binding & black side-dots. Beautiful Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl block inlays. Frets are in great shape with hardly any wear. Old style Guild logo & Chesterfield mother of pearl headstock inlays. Grover Sta-Tite nickel tuners in perfect working condition. 1 5/8" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & the truss rod functions, however, the truss rod has been tightened as much as it can & is sticking out a bit more than it normally would.
