A true vintage beauty that plays & sounds terrific! The dual SuperTron pickups sound wonderful & produce warm, rich tones. Even acoustically the guitar is quite resonant.
Professionally set up with fresh strings & low action, so it plays & sounds fantastic.
Cosmetic Condition: Aside from the binding deterioration, the guitar is actually in really good shape for its age. Various little nicks, chips, dents & dings along with surface scratches & mild weather checking.
Neck: Maple neck with cream binding & red side-dots. Ebony fingerboard with mother of pearl 'thumbnail' & dot inlays. Frets show a bit of wear, but have plenty of life in them.
Bound headstock with Viking plaque riveted to the front. Grover Imperial tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 11/16" nut width with zero fret; 25 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod is in good working condition.
Body: Hollow maple body with 4-ply binding on the top & back and bound F-holes. Bigsby tremolo tailpiece with Space Control bridge & built-in tuning fork. The fork was removed from the guitar, but is included in the case. Mute assembly functions, but has a newer pad. Gold plexi pickguard with black Gretsch & Viking logos. The back pad is in great shape with no tears or missing snaps. Guitar weighs 8 lbs 9 oz.
Electronics: Dual Gretsch SuperTron humbuckers with gold bezels. Master volume & individual pickup volume controls with "G" Arrow knobs. 3-way pickup & tone selector switches along with standby switch. All electronics are in good working condition.
Case: Original hardshell case included.
