Description
Super rare & ultra cool, this gorgeous Country Gentleman is an absolute stunner, showing off some amazing curly maple all over the body! It has a beautiful, natural acoutic resonance to it, but of course the real magic happens when you plug in & fire up those superb sounding FilterTrons for that classic Gretsch sound! Professionally inspected & set up ready to play straight out of the case. Don't miss out on a wonderful opportunity to own a very special piece of Gretsch history.
Cosmetic Condition: Used, but not abused, with good honest play wear - various little nicks, dents & dings; scratches, weather checking & some finish wear. The body binding has shrunk a bit in the waist & shows some cracking/chipping in various spots around the body. Overall the guitar looks great & has an authentic vintage vibe with a nice patina.
Neck: Slender profile maple neck with nicely aged cream binding & red side-dots. Ebony fingerboard with mother of pearl "thumbnail" inlays. Original frets are in great shape with hardly any wear. Bound headstock with unoriginal Grover Rotomatic tuners. 1 11/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.
Body: Single-cutaway, chambered maple body with simulated F-holes. 4-ply binding on the top & back. The curly maple is one-piece for both the top & the back. It is absolutely stunning & shows off some gorgeous variegation throughout - truly a work of art! Bigsby tremolo tailpiece with Rocking Bar bridge. The gold plexi pickguard is in great shape with no cracks & the guitar weighs 8 lbs 7.2 oz.
Electronics: Original FilterTron humbuckers with gold bezels. Master volume & individual pickup volume controls all with "G" Arrow knobs. 3-way pickup & tone selector switches. All electronics are in good working condition.
Case: Vintage Gretsch hardshell case included.
