Description
What makes this guitar special: This particular G-20 was made during the Ampeg years, so sometime between '68 & '70. It features a solid spruce top with the maple back & sides showing off some absolutely stunning birdseye figuring throughout. The matching binding design in the fingerboard, rosette & body, along with the unique headstock shape, really make the guitar stand out from the pack. Professionally set up & ready to play upon arrival.
Cosmetic Condition: Good honest play wear, just the way we like 'em - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches, weather checking & some finish wear. The top center seam had separated a bit over the years, but isn't too bad so the guitar still plays & sounds wonderful.
Neck: Slender profile maple neck with cream side-dots. Beautiful rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays & intricate binding. Frets show some wear, but have plenty of life in them. Multi-bound headstock with maple overlay. Unoriginal gold Schaller tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 5/8" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.
Body: Double-bound dreadnought body in natural finish. Solid spruce top with rosewood bridge. 2-ply black pickguard & multi-ring rosette. Solid maple back & sides with lots of gorgeous birdseye figuring. There is no pickup & the guitar weighs 4 lbs 13.8 oz.
Case: Original hardshell case included.
