Description
Made for only a short period of time in the early '80s, the Sonex-180 models were quite unique in that the bodies were made from a material called Resonwood & manufactured with Multi-phonic body construction. The Multi-phonic body is composed of Resonwood surrounding an inner tone wood core, typically mahogany. The tone wood core not only acts as the anchor point for the neck, it also adds acoustic resonance and exceptional body resilience. The pair of Zebra Dirty Fingers humbuckers sound fantastic & kick out some muscular yet dynamic tones. Professionally set up by the experts here at Cream City Music so it plays & sounds fantastic!
Cosmetic Condition: Good, honest play wear just the way we like to see them - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches & some finish wear. The white finish has aged nicely into more of cream color with nice variegation throughout. Overall the guitar has a great look to it with a cool, true vintage vibe & nice patina.
Neck: Slender profile maple neck with cream side-dots. Ebony fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Typical small frets are in great shape with very little wear. Chrome sealed tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 11/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod is in good working condition.
Body: Single cutaway, Multi-phonic body construction - solid mahogany core with Resonwood coating. Stopbar tailpiece with Tune-O-Matic bridge. Two-ply (black/white) pickguard shows lots of pick wear, but is in great shape overall with no cracks. Guitar weighs 9 lbs 13.7 oz.
Pickups: Dirty Fingers Zebra humbuckers with black bezels. Bridge - 15.95K ohms; Neck - 15.74K ohms. Dual volume & tone controls with black speed knobs; 3-way toggle switch with mini coil tap switch. All electronics are in good working condition.
