An awesome player's grade SG with exquisite tone & a super comfortable feel. Ths cool, true vintage beauty started life as an SG Special, but is now fitted with locking tuners & loaded with a pair of muscular sounding Bare Knuckles humbuckers. Professionally set up & ready to rock upon arrival.
Cosmetic Condition: Various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches, weather checking & some finish wear. There is a 2 pressed into the back of the headstock indicating the guitar was a factory second, however, there are no issues structurally or electronically.
Neck: Slender profile mahogany neck with cream side-dots. Rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl block inlays. Frets are in great shape with no wear. Unoriginal locking tuners work perfectly. 1 9/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.
Body: Contoured, solid mahogany body with unoriginal, single-ply black sparkle pickguard. Unoriginal stopbar tailpiece & Tune-O-Matic bridge with nickel hardware. Guitar weighs 6 lbs 5.4 oz & is very resonant!
Electronics: Unoriginal Bare Knuckles humbuckers with nickel covers & black bezels. Bridge - 8.33K ohms; Neck - 7.56K ohms. The guitar originally had mini humbuckers & the pickup routes were widened for the full size humbuckers. Dual volume & tone controls with black speed knobs; 3-way toggle switch. Unoriginal pots & all electronics are in good working condition.
Case: Original hardshell case included along with a letter from Gibson dated from 1983 indicating the year the guitar was made.
