Description
An excellent player's grade Les Paul/SG that was re-necked quite some time ago. The original neck would have been one-piece with a Les Paul truss rod cover & Kluson Deluxe tuners. The body would have been fitted with a sideways vibrola. Despite the modifications, it's a great player with an ultra cool vintage vibe. Professionally set up with fresh strings & low action, so it plays & sounds amazing!
Cosmetic Condition: Various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches, weather checking & some finish wear. Overall the guitar has a great look to it with an authentic vintage vibe & beautiful patina.
Neck: Unoriginal 3-piece mahogany neck with nicely aged white binding & tortoise side-dots. Rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl trapezoid inlays. Frets show some wear, but have plenty of life in them. Gold Grover Rotomatic Pat Pend tuners & blank truss rod cover. 1 11/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck thickness is about .80" at the first fret & about .85" at the twelfth. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.
Body: Original, one-piece, solid mahogany body from 1962 with original 5-ply small black pickguard. Unoriginal Maestro tremolo tailpiece with missing "lyre" cover & extra screw holes underneath from the previous tailpiece. Nickel ABR-1 bridge with nylon saddles. Both the treble & bass undersides of the bridge have been shaved down a bit. Guitar weighs 7 lbs 2.9 oz.
Electronics: It was a bit difficult to tell if the pickups are original or not. Some signs indicate yes, other indicate no, so we believe them to be PAF replacements. Both have dual black bobbins with black bezels. However, all the pots date to '62 & the dual volume & tone "top hat" knobs also appear to be original. All electronics are in perfect working condition.
Case: Unoriginal hardshell case included.
