Description
100% original & just recently acquired from the great-grandson of the original owner! Sporting that famous '59 profile neck, but of course the real magic to these Juniors is the single P-90 bridge pickup, which packs a serious wallop! Rich & creamy tones with magnificent sustain. Fully inspected & professionally set up with fresh strings & low action so it's ready to play straight out of the case!
Cosmetic Condition: Lots of good, honest play wear - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches, weather checking & some finish wear. The cherry finish has faded to brown, which is typical with this model, but there are no cracks, breaks or repairs. Overall the guitar has a great look to it with an authentic vintage vibe & gorgeous patina.
Neck: Chunky one-piece mahogany neck with cream side-dots. Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Original frets show wear, but still have plenty of life in them. Kluson Deluxe strip tuners with cream buttons. The D & G tuners are slightly bent, but still function properly. 1 11/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works perfectly.
Body: Double-cutaway, one-piece, solid mahogany body. Nickel, wrap-around tailpiece/bridge & single-ply tortoise pickguard. Guitar weighs 7 lbs 0.4 oz.
Pickup: "Dog ear" P-90 single coil bridge pickup - 8.38K ohms. Master volume & tone controls with black "top hat" knobs; original pots & "bumble bee" cap; 3-ply black jackplate. All electronics are in perfect working condition.
Case: Later-period Gibson "chainsaw" case. The bottom latch is missing.
