Description
100% original & in great shape for its age! The sunburst finish is still quite clean & vibrant. The slender neck profile is very comfortable & silky smooth to play. The mini humbuckers sound fantastic & deliver muscular yet dynamic tones. Professionally inspected & set up by the experts here at Cream City Music.
Cosmetic Condition: For the most part, this guitar is in outstanding condition considering it's 50 years old! Various surface scratches throughout & a small chip in one corner of the jackplate. The very top of the headstock is chipped/dented in a bit on the treble side, but there are no cracks, breaks or repairs. Again, the guitar is pretty clean for its age & has a really cool, true vintage vibe to it.
Neck: Slender profile, 3-piece mahogany neck with nicely aged cream binding & tortoise side-dots. Rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl trapezoid inlays. Frets are in great shape with hardly any wear. Gibson Deluxe tuners with double-ring Keystone buttons. 1 11/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.
Body: Solid mahogany "sandwich" body with plain maple top & cream binding. The sunburst finish looks wonderful & has a dark Ice Tea look to it. Stopbar tailpiece & ABR-1 bridge with nickel hardware. Single-ply cream pickguard & jackplate. Guitar weighs 9 lbs 8.3 oz.
Electronics: Gibson-embossed mini humbuckers with cream bezels. Bridge - 7.25K ohms; Neck - 6.83K ohms. Dual volume & tone controls with 3-way toggle switch. Gold "top hat" knobs with inserts. Two pots can be read - one dates to '71 & the other to '72. The other two pot codes are covered up by the solder points. All electronics are in good working condition.
Case: Original Gibson deluxe hardshell case included.
