This magnificent L-7 is a superb player bursting with charm & authentic vintage character. With a perfectly sculpted neck, this gorgeous archtop delivers a bright, punchy tone with silky smooth attack. It's voice is exceptionally powerful & projects like a cannon. Cosmetic Condition: Various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches, weather checking & some finish wear. There's a small crack in the back of the body that was glued & there's just a little bit of seam separation in the back as well. Overall the guitar has a wonderful look to it with a beautiful patina.
Neck: Maple neck with some nice flame figuring. Nicely aged cream binding with tortoise side-dots. Dark Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl floral inlays. Frets show a tiny bit of wear, but have plenty of life in them. Bound headstock with old-style Gibson script logo. Unoriginal Grover Imperial tuners. 1 11/16" nut width; 25" scale length. Neck is straight & plays well up & down the fretboard.
Body: Double-bound, arched top & back. Solid spruce top in sunburst finish with dual F-holes. Nickel trapeze tailpiece with compensated rosewood bridge & bound tortoise pickguard. Solid maple back & sides with some nice figuring in the back. 17" lower bout width with 3 1/2" depth. There are no electronics & the guitar weighs 6 lbs even.
Case: Original "Charlie Christian" tweed hardshell case included! One clasp is missing its latch, but the other four are fine.
