Description
Probably THE loudest L-50 we'ver ever had in the shop! Featuring an arched spruce top with maple sides & flat maple back. With a rich, robust voice & super comfy neck, this gorgeous archtop is a real joy to play. Professionally inspected & set up ready to play straight out of the case.
Cosmetic Condition: It's held up rather well for being nearly 90 years old with typical play wear for its age - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches, weather checking & some finish wear. The back braces are a bit loose in a couple spots, but not too bad.
Overall the guitar has a wonderful, authentic vintage vibe to it with a beautiful patina.
Neck: V-shaped mahogany neck with cream side-dots. Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. The first five frets were refretted with slightly bigger frets, but the remaing frets are original. All the frets are very clean with no wear. Old-style mother of pearl Gibson script headstock inlay & original Grover open-back tuners. 1 3/4" nut width; 25" scale length. Neck is straight & plays great up & down the fretboard.
Body: Double-bound archtop with dual F-holes. Spruce top in sunburst finish. Nickel trapeze tailpiece with rosewood bridge on a floating rosewood base. Long tortoise pickguard. Maple sides with flat maple back. There are no electronics & the guitar weighs 4 lbs 8.1 oz.
Case: Newer hardshell case included.
