Just recently acquired from the nephew of the original owner, this gorgeous L-48 features a solid spruce top with maple back & sides. The chunky V-shaped neck is super comfortable & plays great up & down the fretboard. Gorgeous tone & superb player thanks to a pro set up from the folks here at Cream City Music.
Cosmetic Condition: Good honest play wear with an authentic vintage vibe - various nicks, dents & dings; scratches, weather checking & some mild finish wear. Overall the guitar looks marvelous for its age & shows off a beautiful patina.
Neck: Chunky V-shaped mahogany neck with cream side-dots. Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Frets are in great shape with no wear. '30s/early '40s Gibson script headstock logo. Newer Grover open-gear tuners in perfect working condition. 1 3/4" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight.
Body: Double bound archtop with dual F-holes. Solid spruce top in sunburst finish. Trapeze tailpiece & adjustable rosewood bridge on a floating base. Tortoise celluloid pickguard has deteriorated a bit , but is still all there. Maple back & sides with a flat back. There are no electronics & the guitar weighs 4 lbs 5.5 oz.
Case: Vintage, period-correct deluxe hardshell case included.
