Description
What makes this guitar special: Made for only a brief period of time between 1935 & 1943 this wonderful small body archtop plays & sounds wonderful. Despite its less than perfect appearance, it still manages to kick out some gorgeous tones, thanks to a bright, powerful voice & super chunky neck. Professionally set up & guaranteed to play upon arrival.
Cosmetic Condition: Various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches, weather checking & some finish wear. There's one long back crack that basically runs the entire length of the body & a couple more on top. Overall the guitar has a great, well-played, true vintage vibe with a gorgeous patina.
Neck: Beefy, V-shaped mahogany neck with beautiful Brazilian rosewood fingerboard & mother of pearl dot inlays. Frets show a tiny bit of wear & are in really great shape. Gibson script silkscreen headstock logo. Open-back strip tuners are in good working condition. The G tuner is just slightly bent, but still functions properly. 1 3/4" nut width; 25" scale length.
Body: Double-bound archtop with dual F-holes & flat back. Nickel trapeze tailpiece & floating ebony bridge. Pickguard is missing. 14 3/4" lower bout width; 10 1/4" upper bout width; 3 3/4" depth. Guitar weighs 4 lbs 0.6 oz.
Case: Later-period Gibson hardshell case included.
