It's getting harder & harder to find 100 plus year old guitars these days that still play & sound nice. Despite its less than stellar appearance, this one still offers good playability & a sweet tone. Featuring a beefy, V-shaped neck with a bright, punchy voice, this fun L1 archtop makes a great addition to any vintage guitar collection. Professionally set up & ready to play.
Cosmetic Condition: Various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches, weather checking & some finish wear. There are various cracks in the top & back of the body that have been repaired. The body was oversprayed & there's a bit of milkyness in the finish now. Overall the guitar has a cool vibe to it with a nice patina.
Neck: Super chunky, V-shaped mahogany neck with nicely aged ivoroid binding & tortoise side-dots. Ebony fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Frets have been dressed & show no wear. Open-gear strip tuners work great. 1 7/8" nut width; 24 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & plays well up & down the fretboard.
Body: Solid Adirondak spruce top with ivoroid binding. Bound soundhole with multi-ring rosette. Original Pat Pend trapeze tailpiece with floating bridge & original pickguard.
Solid birch back & sides. 13 3/4" lower bout width; 10" upper bout width; 3 1/2" depth. Guitar weighs 4 lbs & there are no electronics
Case: Unoriginal Yamaha hardshell case included.
