Description
Gibson introduced the square shoulder J-50 in '69 & it's every bit as warm & rich sounding as the more familiar slope shoulders. This one has a powerful, robust tone that projects exceptionally well & is super fun to play. Professionally set up & ready for action straight out of the case.
Cosmetic Condition: Lots of good, honest play wear - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches, weather checking & some finish wear. There are a few top cracks - two are glued, but the one near the pickguard is not. Overall the guitar has an ultra cool, true vintage look to it with a nice patina.
Neck: Nicely rounded mahogany neck with cream side-dots. Rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Frets show some wear, but have plenty of life in them. Gibson Deluxe tuners are in good working condition. 1 5/8" nut width; 25 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.
Body: Square shoulder dreadnought in natural finish. Solid spruce top with 3-ply binding. Rosewood bridge & adjustable saddle. Toroise pickguard & multi-ring rosette. Mahogany back & sides with single-ply binding. There are no electronics & the guitar weighs 5 lbs 0.2 oz.
Case: Tweed hardshell case included.
