Description
Gibson introduced the square shoulder J-50 in '69 & it's every bit as warm & rich sounding as the more familiar slope shoulders. Professionally set up & ready for action straight out of the case.
Cosmetic Condition: Lots of good honest play wear - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches, weather checking & finish wear. There are a couple of top cracks that have been professionally repaired - glued & cleated. Overall the guitar has an ultra cool, true vintage look to it with a nice patina.
Neck: Nicely rounded mahogany neck with cream side-dots. Rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Frets show some wear, but have plenty of life in them. Kluson Deluxe tuners with cream buttons. The G & D tuners are slightly bent, but still function properly. 1 11/16" nut width; 25 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine, however, the neck angle is such that the action is just a tad bit higher than what most modern players prefer. String height at the 12th fret is about 3/16" & the saddle is as low as it's going to go.
Body: Square shoulder dreadnought in natural finish. Solid spruce top with 3-ply binding. Rosewood bridge & adjustable saddle. Unoriginal black pickguard & multi-ring rosette. Mahogany back & sides with single-ply binding. Guitar weighs 5 lbs 0.5 oz.
Case: Hardshell case included.
