Description
An absolutely drop dead gorgeous & stunning example of a true vintage original - a 1959 Gibson J-45 slope shoulder dreadnought in sunburst finish. Aside from the simple under-saddle pickup by Dean Markley, the guitar is all original & plays exceptionally well. The real magic, however, is in its truly remarkable sounding voice - warm & rich with superb clarity & definition. Not to mention its volume - LOUD! This beauty really projects & can compete with just about any other dreadnought on the market. A real winner & definite must-have for any serious collector or player. Professionally inspected & set up by the experts at Cream City Music, so it's ready to perform upon arrival.
Cosmetic Condition: Great shape for being 60 years old & showing only good, honest play wear - various minor nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches, weather checking & some mild finish wear. No cracks, breaks or repairs. Overall the guitar has a wonderful, authentic vintage look to it with a beautiful patina.
Neck: Nicely rounded & somewhat chunky mahogany neck with cream side-dots. Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Frets show some wear, but have plenty of life in them. Kluson Deluxe strip tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 11/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & plays great up & down the fretboard.
Body: Double-bound, slope-shoulder dreadnought with solid spruce top in sunburst finish. Brazilian rosewood bridge with mother of pearl dot inlays & adjustable ceramic bridge. Large tortoise pickguard & 3-ring rosette. Solid mahogany back & sides. Guitar weighs a delightful 4 lbs 12.6 oz.
