Description
This model made its debut in '65 & for the first couple of years Brazilian rosewood was used for the back & sides before switching to Indian in '68. Based on the serial number this guitar dates around '69. We've examined the body closely & noticed features that imply the rosewood could very well be Brazilian, however, we are not 100% sure. Regardless, the guitar itself has a fabulous, true vintage vibe to it & produces a really warm, rich tone making it so much fun to play. Professionally set up by the experts at Cream City Music, so she's ready to play straight out of the case.
Cosmetic Condition: Lots of good honest wear from years of play - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches, weather checking & some finish wear. There's a small top crack on the bass-side, about 3" long that was professionally repaired by us. Overall the guitar has a cool vibe to it with a gorgeous patina.
Neck: Nicely rounded mahogany neck with cream side-dots. Ebony fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Frets show some wear, but have plenty of life in them. Grover Rotomatic nickel tuners in perfect working condition. 1 11/16" nut width; 25 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.
Body: Square shoulder dreadnought with multi-layer top & back binding. Solid spruce top with ebony bridge & adjustable saddle. There is a slight gap between the back of the bridge & the top, however, the bridge is firmly attached to the top. Black pickguard & multi-ring rosette. Rosewood back & sides. Guitar weighs 5 lbs 2.7 oz.
Case: Original vintage hardshell case included.
