Description
A vintage 1952 Gibson GA-8 Gibsonette tube combo amp. While in nice condition overall, the was some separation of the cabinet joints over the years. These joints have been re-glued, and the cabinet is once again structurally sound.
Tone-wise, the Gibsonette takes a 5-watt single-ended circuit and makes it bigger--adding a second 6V6 in parallel on top of larger transformers and a larger cabinet/speaker. The result is same harmonically-complex tone without the boxy sound of a student-sized amp. The pentode preamp contributes to the big tone with additional high-frequency chime. A great little vintage amp for small stages or recording studios. This amp has been cleaned and serviced. It is fully functional and sounds fantastic.
