Description
100% original & a great player with a cool vintage vibe. Smooth playing neck & dynamic tones from the double humbuckers with 4-way rotary selector. Professionally set up by the experts here at Cream City Music, so it plays & sounds fantastic!
Cosmetic Condition: Typical play wear for its age - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches, weather checking & some finish wear. The treble-side headstock flange required a little re-gluing & there's a superficial crack in the back of the headstock just below the bass-side tuner slot. Any issues are purely cosmetic & do not affect playability. Overall the bass has a super cool, authentic vintage vibe to it with a beautiful patina.
Neck: Slender profile mahogany neck with nicely aged cream binding & tortoise side-dots. Rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Frets are in great shape with a little bit of wear. Slotted headstock with mother of pearl Gibson inlay. Gibson tuners in perfect working condition. 1 1/2" nut width; 30 1/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.
Body: Contoured, solid mahogany body in cherry finish. Top-loading bridge with four adjustable nylon saddles. Bridge cover is missing. 4-ply small black pickguard is in great shape with no cracks. Bass weighs 8 lbs 0.4 oz.
Pickups: Full size neck humbucker & mini bridge humbucker, both with black bezels. Dual volume & tone controls with black "witch hat" knobs & 4-way rotary switch. Rotary knob goes all the around, but is fully functioning. Pots date to '71 & all electronics are in good working condition.
Case: Original chipboard case included. The name Quickshot is stenciled on the outside of the case & a portion of the bottom latch is missing.
