Based on an earlier design, this gorgeous reissue from '70 retains most of the original 50's look, including the ultra cool violin-shaped body. Exquisite tone with a smooth, comfortable feel. Professionally set up & ready to play straight out of the case.
Cosmetic Condition: Various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches, weather checking & some finish wear. Overall the bass has a great look to it with an authentic vintage vibe & gorgeous patina.
Neck: Nicely rounded mahogany neck with cream side-dots. Rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Frets are clean with no wear. G branded Schaller tuners stamped Made in W. Germany & unoriginal truss rod cover. 1 1/2" nut width; 30 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works perfectly.
Body: Violin-shaped, solid mahogany body in brown finish. Top-loading bridge with adjustable nylon saddles & original bridge cover. Single-ply black pickguard with wooden tugbar. Includes its original stem which screws into the bottom of the body so you can play it like an upright. Bass weighs 9 lbs 3.1 oz.
Electronics: Full size neck humbucker with chrome cover. Master volume & tone controls with black "witch hat" knobs. Pots date to '70 & all electronics are in perfect working condition.
Case: Original hardshell case included.
