A superb player with stunning good looks & dynamite tone! The low impedance humbuckers sound absolutely amazing, offering warm, rich tones & excellent resonance. The cherry sunburst finish looks great & the guitar shows off some brilliant flame figuring. Professionally set up with fresh strings & low action, so it plays & sounds fantastic!
Cosmetic Condition: Really nice shape actually for a guitar that's over 50 years old with signs of only mild play wear - various tiny nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches & some tarnish on the gold hardware. Overall the guitar has a wonderful look to it with an authentic vintage vibe & gorgeous patina.
Neck: 3-piece maple neck with multiple binding & tortoise side-dots. Ebony fingerboard with abalone block inlays. Frets show some wear, but have plenty of life in them. Multi-bound headstock with mother of pearl flower pot & Gibson inlays. High-mass Kluson tuners & new bone nut. 1 11/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod is functioning.
Body: Solid maple body with multiple binding & some beautiful flame figuring. Trapeze tailpiece with L-5 S engraving. "Harmonica" bridge with adjustable saddles & gold hardware. Guitar weighs 9 lbs 7.3 oz.
Electronics: Gibson-embossed low impedance humbuckers with 3-way toggle switch. Dual volume & tone controls with gold "top hat" knobs. One tone knob is missing its reflector insert. Pots date to '73 & all electronics are in good working condition.
Case: Original hardshell case included.
