Description
Here's a gorgeous blast from the past - this magnificent Gibson Custom ES-335 shows off a stunning one-piece flame maple top & one-piece flame maple back - wow! Featuring a flatter, wide profile neck & loaded with a pair of dynamic-sounding Pat No. humbuckers that deliver rich, robust tones. Professionally inspected & set up by the experts here at Cream City Music, so it's ready for action straight out of the case.
Cosmetic Condition: It has that perfect look for a guitar that's pushing nearly 40 years of age - various little nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches, mild weather checking & some finish wear underneath the pickguard. The finish has aged nicely over the years & mellowed into more of an orangey/caramel color, particularly along the body binding. There are two wear spots near the tailpiece - they are not filled holes, but it does appear the previous owner may have attempted to install something there & then gave up before drilling all the way through. Overall the guitar has a great look to it, with an authentic vintage vibe & beautiful patina.
Neck: Flat profile mahogany neck with cream binding & black side-dots. Dark rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Original frets show a bit of wear, but have tons of life in them. Grover Rotomatic tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 11/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works perfectly.
Body: Double-bound, semi-hollow maple body with dual F-holes. The rims are plain maple, but both the top & back show off fabulous one-piece flame figuring. TP-6 tailpiece with Tune-O-Matic bridge & 5-ply black pickguard. Guitar weighs 8 lbs 10.8 oz.
Electronics: Dual Gibson Pat No. humbuckers with black bezels. Bridge - 7.41K ohms; Neck - 7.53K ohms. Dual volume & tone controls with amber speed knobs; 3-way toggle switch. All electronics are in perfect working condition.
Case: Original hardshell case included with replacement handle.
