Description
Just recently acquired from the second owner who really didn't play it too much over the years. The guitar looks gorgeous & quite clean for its age. The Cherry Sunburst finish looks amazing & is still quite virbrant - it really pops! The double humbuckers sound fantastic & produce luxurious, dynamic tones. Professionally inspected & set up by the experts here at Cream City Music, so it's ready for action upon arrival.
Cosmetic Condition: Marvelous condition for being well over 50 years old - various minor nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches & weather checking throughout. Overall the guitar looks fabulous & has an ultra cool, true vintage vibe to it with a beautiful patina.
Neck: Slender profile mahogany neck with nicely aged cream binding & tortoise side-dots. Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl double parallelogram inlays. Frets show some wear, but still have plenty of life in them. Bound headstock with mother of pearl holly inlay & Custom truss rod cover. Kluson Deluxe tuners with double-lip Keystone buttons. 1 9/16" nut width; 25 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.
Body: Hollow maple body with double Florentine cutaways & dual F-holes. There's some gorgeous flaming throughout the body along with some light bird's eye figuring. 3-ply top & back binding. Trapeze tailpiece with Barney Kessel badge. Adjustable bridge on a floating rosewood base. 5-ply black pickguard & chrome hardware. 17" lower bout width & about a 3" depth. Guitar weighs 6 lbs 11.2 oz.
Electronics: Gibson Pat No. humbuckers with black bezels. Bridge - Dual volume & tone controls with black "witch hat" knobs; 3-way toggle switch. All electronics are in good working condition.
Case: Original hardshell case included.
