Description
A fantastic player's grade, true vintage '53 Telecaster - light weight, exceptionally resonant with magnificent tone & feel! An excellent choice for someone looking to get an affordable, early Telecaster. Professionally set up so it's ready for action straight out of the case!
Cosmetic Condition: Lots of good, honest wear & tear, just the way we like 'em - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches, weather checking & some finish wear. Overall the guitar has an ultra cool look to it with a great vibe & beautiful patina.
Neck: Soft V-shape maple neck with black dot inlays. Professionally refretted with bigger frets that show no wear. There's a filled hole in the headstock from a previous string tree. Unoriginal, vintage Kluson Deluxe tuners. 1 5/8" nut width; 25 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine. Unoriginal neck plate. Pencil date reads 6-10-53.
Body: Solid ash body refinished a long time ago. The body was sanded a bit too much in some spots, namely the treble-side horn & around the neck pocket. You can see where the pickguard is too close to the edge & the neck plate sticks out too much. There's a route under the pickguard that was filled. String-thru bridge with three adjustable "barrel" saddles. Bridge cover is missing. Unoriginal single-ply black pickguard. Guitar weighs 7 lbs 4.9 oz. Great weight & tight neck/body connection.
Electronics: Dual single coils that sound absolutely amazing! Bridge - 6.50K ohms; Neck - 7.75K ohms. The bridge pickup is original & we feel the neck pickup is too, but not completely sure. The current control plate/electronics are replacements, but the originals are included with the guitar. Master volume & tone controls with chrome dome knobs; 3-way selector switch. All electronics are in good working condition.
Case: Modern Fender hardshell case included.
