Description
An excellent player's grade Blackguard Tele due to a body refin & swapped out neck pickup. This is a monster player & sounds fantastic - superb sustain with a pair of spankin' single coils! A true vintage beauty with authentic wear & tear to prove it. Professionally inspected & set up ready to play straight out of the case.
Cosmetic Condition: Good honest play wear, just the way we like to see them - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches, weather checking & some finish wear. Again, the body has been refinished, but still shows off an ultra cool, true vintage vibe & gorgeous patina.
Neck: Soft V-shaped maple neck with some really nice flame figuring. 7.25" radius fingerboard & black dot inlays. The neck looks like it may have been oversprayed & the frets show a bit of wear, but have plenty of life in them. Headstock decal is in great shape with no bits missing. Unoriginal nickel tuners work great, however, one of the screws has broken off inside the slot. 1 5/8" nut width; 25 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works perfectly. Neck pencil date reads TG 12-23-52.
Body: Solid ash body professionally refinished in Butterscotch. String-thru bridge with three adjustable "barrel" saddles & original bridge cover. Serial number is 2525 which dates to 1954. Single-ply black pickguard shows some wear, but no cracks. Guitar weighs 7 lbs 8.7 oz.
Electronics: Original bridge pickup - 6.65K ohms; Lollar replacement neck pickup - 5.51K ohms. Master volume & tone controls with knurled knobs & 3-way selector switch. Pots are original & all electronics are in good working condition.
Case: Vintage reproduction hardshell case included.
