Description
Cosmetic Condition: This one has that perfect, authentic vintage look with good, honest play wear - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches, weather checking & some finish wear. The finish on the back of the neck has worn off & there's some pitting in the fingerboard. However, the guitar was professionally refretted & plays perfectly up & down the fretboard. Overall the guitar has a wonderful look to it with a great vibe & gorgeous patina.
Neck: Nicely rounded maple neck with dark rosewood fingerboard & mother of pearl dot inlays. Professionally refretted & showing no fret wear. Large headstock with single string tree. Original Kluson Deluxe tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 5/8" nut width; 25 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine. Neck stamp reads 13 MAY 66 B.
Body: Contoured, solid alder body in original 3-tone sunburst finish. Tremolo bridge with adjustable saddles & original trem arm included. However, the back trem cover is missing. 3-ply white pickguard is in great shape with no cracks. The previous owner lightly etched his name & some numbers in the neck plate, but they are hardly visible. Guitar weighs 7 lbs 8.4 oz. Great weight - light & very resonant!
Electronics: Original grey bottom single coils all date to '66. Bridge - 5.82K ohms; Middle - 5.80K ohms; Neck - 5.71K ohms. Master volume & dual tone controls with 3-way selector switch. Pots date to '66 & all electronics are in perfect working condition. The selector switch was never changed to a 5-way & all three pickups deliver clear, bell-like tones that ring out beautifully.
Case: Vintage Fender hardshell case included.
