A two-owner guitar and aside from a pro refret by the second owner, it's 100% original. Small headstock with a neck date of OCT 65. All three grey bottom pickups date to '65 as do all the pots. Still has the original 3-way selector switch. All the wiring & solders are original. The neck/body connection is tight & the guitar resonantes like an acoustic! Gorgeous Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with some pretty bird's eye figuring in the back of the neck. The original Lake Placid Blue finish looks fantastic & has aged marvelously over the years. This a phenomenal guitar for both players & collectors alike. In short, an absolutely gorgeous, true vintage Strat that will not disappoint. In my opinion, definitely one of THE best vintage Strats we've ever had in the shop.
Cosmetic Condition: Good, honest play wear, exactly how we like to see them - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches, weather checking & some finish wear. The maple neck has aged nicely & shows off a gorgeous caramel color. Overall the guitar looks awesome with an ultra cool, true vintage vibe & beautiful patina.
Neck: Super comfortable feeling maple neck with some light bird's eye figuring in the back. Beautiful Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Professionally refretted with medium jumbo frets, all in great shape with almost no wear. Headstock decals are in great shape with no bits missing. Kluson Deluxe tuners in perfect working condition. 1 5/8" nut width; 25 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod functions just fine. Neck stamp reads 2 OCT 65 B.
Body: Contoured, solid alder body finished in Lake Placid Blue. Tremolo bridge with adjustable saddles. Original trem arm & bridge cover included. 3-ply white pickguard & single-ply white trem cover. Guitar weighs a delightful 7 lbs 15.4 oz. Great weight & exceptionally resonant!
Electronics: Grey bottom single coils with staggered poles. All three pickups date to '65. Bridge - 5.85K ohms; Middle - 6.10K ohms; Neck - 6.08K ohms. Master volume & dual tone controls with 3-way selector switch. Pots date to '65 & all electronics are in perfect working condition.
Case: Original hardshell case included. The case is in similar condition to the guitar. The original leather strap & two extra trem springs are included.
