Description

What makes this guitar special: This is a great vintage Fender 12-string that is rife with character from top to bottom. Aesthetically, it has aged very well with a deepened hue from the headstock to the binding and the top, giving it a very warm look overall, which happens to perfectly match its tone. With a nicely broken in spruce top and mahogany back and sides, its sound centers around the warm and rich mid-range which is sandwiched by a compressed low end and silky highs. The neck profile works great for its configuration and plays easily despite the extra width. All in all, it’s a solid-playing 12-string with a defined aesthetic and great tone and playability.

Condition: This guitar is in good condition overall. It does have various small nicks, dings, dents, chips, finish cracks, and scratches, but is still largely clean for a guitar of its age. Part of the rosette has shrunk a little and is not flush on the treble side but does not affect playability or aesthetics. There is a hole where a jack had previously been installed on the treble side lower bout. The frets show mild wear but still have a good amount of life left in them. The neck is comfortable and the truss rod is functioning.

Body: Double bound dreadnought body with a spruce top and mahogany back and sides in Natural finish. 3-ring black and white rosette. Mahogany bridge with white bridge pins.

Neck: Slim to medium depth C/Soft V hybrid profile birdseye maple neck and bound rosewood fingerboard with pearloid block inlays. Fender 6-per side sealed tuning machines. 1 ¾” nut width. 25.5” scale.

Weight: 6 lbs 7.4 oz

Playability/Sound: Even with a bit more width to compensate for the 12-string configuration, the profile of this neck is still very easy to play from the nut to the body. The overall tone has a nice compressed low end that adds a bit of power without being overwhelming, whereas the mid-range really shine with excellent body that is rounded out by a sweet and smooth top end that still boasts considerable articulation and chime.

Case: Includes original hardshell case.
