Description
100% original & exceptionally clean for its age. The wow factor on this gorgeous Competition Mustang would have to be the matching finish headstock in Candy Apple Red - now how cool is that! Professionally inspected & set up by the experts here at Cream City Music, so it's ready to play straight out of the case.
Cosmetic Condition: Marvelous condition for being over 50 years old & in really great shape actually - various tiny nicks, dents & dings; mild surface scratches & very light weather checking. There was a decal on the back of body at some point that left behind a "ghosting" image, but it's hardly noticeable. Overall the guitar looks clean & has an ultra cool look to it. A real museum piece!
Neck: Nicely rounded maple neck with dark rosewood fingerboard & mother of pearl dot inlays. Frets are in great shape with practically no wear. Headstock decals are in great shape with no bits missing & the Candy Apple Red finish looks sharp! F-logo tuners with white buttons & single string tree. 1 5/8" nut width; 24 " scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine. Neck stamp reads 16 JUL 69 B.
Body: Contoured, solid poplar body finished in Candy Apple Red with cream colored Competition stripes. Dynamic Vibrato tailpiece with original trem arm. Adjustable bridge with six "barrel" saddles & original bridge cover. 3-ply white pearloid pickguard is in great shape with no cracks. Guitar weighs 7 lbs even & is exceptionally resonant!
Electronics: Original grey bottom single coils with black covers. Pickup selector switches in good working condition. Master volume & tone controls with black knobs. Pots date to '66 & all electronics are in perfect working condition.
Case: Original hardshell case included - also in wonderful condition!
