Description
A wonderful player's grade '66 Jazz Bass with a killer look & a super cool vintage vibe. This one has really been worked over, but it plays like a dream & has a marvelous natural resonance to it. The original finish was stripped off & the bridge was replaced with a Badass. The original pickups were replaced with a pair of active Alembics that kick out some dynamite tone. The bass has been professionally set up by us & plays fantastic!
Cosmetic Condition: Well played & it shows - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches & some finish wear. The neck originally had binding on it, but was removed when the neck was sanded down. Overall the bass has a great look to it with a nice patina.
Neck: Slender profile maple neck with black side-dots. Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl block inlays. The bass was refretted & the frets are in great shape with no wear. Original nickel tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 3/8" nut width; 34" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine. Neck stamp reads 7 SEP 66 A.
Body: Contoured, solid alder body stripped down to natural & re-lacquered. Unoriginal Badass bridge with 4-ply tortoise pickguard. Bass weighs 8 lbs 15.9 oz - really great weight!
Electronics: Unoriginal Alembic active Jazz Bass pickups powered by a single 9-volt battery. The control cavity was just ever so slightly routed to fit the battery. Dual volume & master tone controls. All electronics are in perfect working condition.
Case: Fender plastic injection mold hardshell case included.
