Description

100% original & just recently acquired from the original family. Authentic vintage vibe & a superb player thanks to a pro inspection/set up from the experts here at Cream City Music. Super cool look with tons of true vintage appeal. The neck feels fantastic & plays great up & down the fretboard. Gorgeous voice with clear, bell-like tones from the double single coils. Ready to play straight out of the case & a wonderful guitar overall!

Cosmetic Condition: Really great shape for its age with only mild play wear - very minor nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches & light weather checking. Overall the guitar has a pretty clean look to it considering it's 62 years old & shows off a beautiful patina.

Neck: Slender profile maple neck with beautiful, slab Brazilian rosewood fingerboard & clay dot inlays. Frets are clean with no wear. Kluson Deluxe tuners with single string tree. 1 5/8" nut width; 24" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine. Neck stamp reads 1 MAY 62 B.

Body: Contoured, solid alder body finished in 3-tone sunburst. Tremolo tailpiece with original trem arm included. Six-saddle adjustable bridge. The mute pad had hardened & deteriorated over the years so we put a nice new one on. The bridge cover is missing. 4-ply tortoise pickguard has warped a tiny bit, but there are no cracks. Guitar weighs 8 lbs 2.3 oz.

Electronics: Dual single coils with cream covers; rhythm & lead circuits. Dual control wheels for individual volume & tone in rhythm circuit. 3 individual switches in lead circuit. Master volume & tone controls. Pots date to '62 and all electronics are fully functional.

Case: Original hardshell case included. The case is quite tattered & worn, with the left-side latch missing. The name Mike Thompson is painted on the outside of the case.
