Description
The rare Dwight model was made for Sonny Shields Music of St Louis & is essentially a Coronet finished in classic Cherry, featuring one P-90 bridge pickup. This particular model is a dynamite player with superb tone, feel & exceptionally resonant! Professionally set up & ready to play straight out of the case.
Cosmetic Condition: Used, but not abused, with typical play wear for its age - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches, weather checking & some finish wear. Overall the guitar has a great look to it with an authentic vintage vibe & beautiful patina.
Neck: Slender profile mahogany neck with cream side-dots. Dark rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Original frets show a little bit of wear, but have tons of life in them. Batwing headstock with Kluson Deluxe strip tuners & Dwight truss rod cover. 1 9/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works perfectly.
Body: Contoured, solid mahogany body with 3-ply white pickguard. The original compensated wrap-around bridge is included with the guitar, however, a more modern style, designed better for a plain G is currently on the guitar. Both bridges are included. Guitar weighs 6 lbs 4.4 oz & is exceptionally resonant!
Electronics: P-90 single coil bridge pickup with nickel "dog ear" cover - 5.86K ohms. Master volume & tone controls. Pots date to '66 & all electronics are in perfect working condition.
Case: Unoriginal, deluxe hardshell case included.
