Description
Made for only a brief moment from about the mid '70s until around 1980, the 2281 Elvin Bishop was Electra's first professional endorsement model. This gorgeous semi-hollow body features beautiful flame maple figuring along with a Tree of Life fingerboard inlay. Loaded with a pair of muscular yet dynamic Seymour Duncan humbuckers that deliver rich, robust tones. Professionally set up & ready to play straight out of the case.
Cosmetic Condition: Great shape for being 45 years old - various minor nicks & dings along with surface scratches throughout. There's a pretty good sized chip in the back of the headstock, but it's really not too bad. Overall the guitar looks great & has a really cool, true vintage vibe to it.
Neck: Wide, flat profile maple neck with nicely aged cream binding & black side-dots. Rosewood fingerboard with abalone/mother of pearl Tree of Life inlay. Frets show some light wear, but have plenty of life in them. Bound headstock with Electra diecast tuners. 1 11/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works perfectly.
Body: Double-bound, semi-hollow flame maple body with dual F-holes. Stop tailpiece with Tune-O-Matic bridge & 4-ply black pickguard. Guitar weighs 8 lbs 7.5 oz.
Electronics: Dual Seymour Duncan humbuckers with black bezels. Dual volume & tone controls with black speed knobs; 3-way toggle switch. All electronics are in good working condition.
Case: Original hardshell case included.
