Description
What makes this guitar special: 100% original & recently acquired from the family of the original owner. This gorgeous, early '70s Hummingbird was lovingly played & shows typical signs of wear. It's very comfortable to play & produces a warm, rich tone with a sweet resonance. Professionally set up by our luthier here at Cream City Music so it sounds amazing!
Cosmetic Condition: Used, but not abused with typical wear & tear - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches, weather checking & finish wear. There is a very small crack near the soundhole between the neck & pickguard that was professionally glued & cleated by our luthier. Overall the guitar has a great, true vintage look to it with a beautiful patina.
Neck: Slender profile, three-piece mahogany neck with nicely aged cream binding & black side-dots. Beautiful, dark rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl double parallelogram inlays. Frets are in great shape with hardly any wear & plenty of life in them. Gibson tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 11/16" nut width; 25 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.
Body: Square shoulder dreadnought with multi-bound top & back. Solid spruce top in cherry sunburst finish. Rosewood bridge & adjustable saddle with cream end pins. Tortoise pickguard with Hummingbird & floral motif. Multi-ring rosette. Solid mahogany back & sides with geometric center strip. There is no pickup. Guitar weighs 5 lbs 7.4 oz.
Case: 1960's Gibson hardshell case with gold interior. The original handle broke & was replaced with a Hartz dog collar. The original owner's name 'BUCK' is on the outside of the case.
