Description
A gorgeous, true vintage beauty featuring a scroll headstock & violin-shaped body. This lovely Japanese-made Aria is an excellent take on Hofner's iconic 500/1 model & produces a very similar woody, thumpy tone. Classic good looks & a great feeling bass with a cool vibe. Professionally set up & ready to play straight out of the case.
Cosmetic Condition: There are various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches & some weather checking, but overall the bass is in great shape.
Neck: Chunky maple neck with 3-ply binding & black side-dots. Rosewood fingerboard with pearloid dot inlays. Frets are in great shape with no wear. Scroll headstock with 4-ply tortoise truss rod cover. Closed-back tuners in good working condition. The D tuner feels a bit chewed up with lots of pitting in the chrome, but still functions properly. 1 9/16" nut width; 30 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.
Body: Violin-shaped, hollow maple body with dual F-holes. Multi-layer top binding & single-ply back binding. Trapeze tailpiece with wood & metal inserts. Adjustable rosewood bridge on a floating rosewood base. 4-ply tortoise pickguard with large wooden finger-rest. Bass weighs 6 lbs 1.1 oz.
Electronics: Dual single coil pickups with 4-ply tortoise bezels. The bridge pickup is mounted on a wooden base. Master volume & tone controls with gold "top hat" knobs & 3-way toggle switch. All electronics are in good working condition.
Case: Original chipboard case included.
