Description
A rare vintage 1966 Airline 62 GVC 9035A tube combo amp. Manufactured by Valco, the 9035A features circuitry that is identical to iconic Valco-manufactured Supro and Gretsch models. This example has a few changes. The output transformer has been replaced with a modern ClasscTone. Fortunately, the parent company of ClassicTone was the original OEM transformer manufacturer for Valco, so this is a spot-on reproduction. Additionally, the reverb tank has been replaced with a modern tank--a significant upgrade from the original cardboard box tank, which typically sounds as box-y as it looks.
Soundwise, this amp combines pro features like a full-sized speaker/cabinet, reverb and tube tremolo with a student-sized power amp--resulting in big tone at low volumes. Perfect for practice or recording studios. This amp has been cleaned and tested. It is fully functional and sounds great.
