Description
What makes this guitar special: A very rare model, built for the Japanese market and specially imported to the United States a few months back. The ES-930J features a thinline hollow body with a pair of silver covered P90 single coils, an arched top and back with venetian cutaway, and set-neck construction, which affords brilliant resonance. The fit & finish of this piece is on par with the Epiphone Elitist series currently made in Japan, of utmost quality in comparison to the Korean and Chinese Epiphones of recent years. Professionally inspected and setup by the experts at Cream City Music, it will arrive ready to play.
Cosmetic condition: Used but not abused, with some standard wear & tear throughout. There are various light scratches, dents, dings, nicks, and scuffs present, with some tarnishing on the hardware. The treble side of the neck sports an approximately 3” long crack that has been finished over. The crack appears to have been surface only, but has been addressed and is totally stable. This is non-structural and does not affect intonation or playability.
Body: Double bound maple hollow body in cherry finish with Venetian cutaway. Aged chrome pickup covers, ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge, and trapeze tailpiece. Mounted pickguard with Epiphone “E” logo.
Weight: 6 lb, 4.6 oz
Neck: Very comfortable rounded mahogany neck (close to a C shape, with a slightly wider profile similar to a D shape) with black side dots and pearl dot inlays. 1 5/8” nut width, 24 3/4" scale length. Bound rosewood fingerboard is in awesome shape, and frets show almost no wear with a lot of life left in them. Black headstock overlay with pearl Epiphone logo and vintage style tuners with mint tulip buttons. Neck is straight and truss rod works great.
Electronics: Dual P90 single coil pickups (Neck-8.03k ohms, Bridge-11.33k ohms) with 3-way pickup selector switch and gold tophat knobs, 2x tone, 2x volume.
Case: Hard shell case included. Case sports some really cool stickers from the original owner, as well as the airmail stickers from its import to the US.
